The cheapest insurance companies in Arkansas will be different from person to person. This is because everyone has a unique history when it comes to the factors that impact the rate you pay for insurance in Arkansas. Average rates may vary depending on the profile and background of the policyholder depending on these and other factors:
Drivers who drive clean and traffic citations can have car insurance rates significantly lower in the state of Arkansas.
Everyone makes a mistake and has to deal with the consequences, but the consequences of a DUI can be severe. These penalties include fines into the thousands of dollars. Finding affordable rates for AR car insurance after a DUI is no small feat, but if you really have trouble getting an affordable rate, consider only liability insurance as a way to save.
Even a tiny fender bender can lift interest rates to levels that will significantly alter your budget. Insurers look at different time frames to track your driving history, from the time of your accident to the date of your accident and even up to a few months later. One company could look at the last five years, while the other could look at the last three years and so on.
Speeding tickets can directly impact the rate you pay for AR auto insurance. Get enough of them and you can even lose your license.
Inexperienced drivers pose a higher risk to insurance providers so their rates can be significantly higher than average drivers. Novice drivers should be especially careful to maintain a clean driving record and comply with all speed limits and other driving regulations. Some AR insurance companies can provide more favorable rates than others for younger drives. It's worth getting multiple quotes so you can save money on your monthly insurance premiums.
You will need to get SR-22 insurance in AR if it's ordered by the state or a court. If it's a court that orders it, then the judge will notify you of this at the hearing. If it's ordered by the state, then you will get a letter from the DM/BMV.
Not all drivers need an SR-22. It's generally only required if you are caught driving without a valid license or valid insurance. You may also need an SR-22 in these cases:
The SR-22 is not an insurance policy. It's a document that your insurance company in AR files with the state to prove you have adequate car insurance. This allows you to legally drive again if you are ordered to get an SR-22. Not all insurers offer SR-22s so you may need to shop around.
Arkansas () is a state in the South Central region of the United States, home to more than three million people as of 2018. Its name is from the Osage language, of Siouan derivation; it denoted their related kin, the Quapaw people. The state's diverse geography ranges from the mountainous regions of the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains, which make up the U.S. Interior Highlands, to the densely forested land in the south known as the Arkansas Timberlands, to the eastern lowlands along the Mississippi River and the Arkansas Delta.
Arkansas is the 29th largest by area and the 33rd most populous U.S. state. The capital and most populous city is Little Rock, in the central part of the state, a hub for transportation, business, culture, and government. The northwestern corner of the state, including the Fayetteville–Springdale–Rogers Metropolitan Area and Fort Smith metropolitan area, is a population, education, and economic center. The largest city in the state's eastern part is Jonesboro. The largest city in the state's southeastern part is Pine Bluff.
Previously part of French Louisiana and the Louisiana Purchase, the Territory of Arkansas was admitted to the Union as the 25th state on June 15, 1836. Much of the Delta had been developed for cotton plantations, and landowners there largely depended on enslaved African Americans' labor. In 1861, Arkansas seceded from the United States and joined the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. On returning to the Union in 1868, Arkansas continued to suffer economically, due to its over reliance on the large-scale plantation economy. Cotton remained the leading commodity crop, although the cotton market declined. Because farmers and businessmen did not diversify and there was little industrial investment, the state fell behind in economic opportunity. In the late 19th century, the state instituted various Jim Crow laws to disenfranchise and segregate the African-American population. During the 1950s, during the civil rights movement, Arkansas and particularly Little Rock were major battlegrounds for efforts to integrate schools.
White democrat interests dominated Arkansas's politics by disenfranchisement of African Americans and refusal to reapportion the legislature. Only after the civil rights movement and federal intervention, were more African Americans able to vote. The Supreme Court overturned rural domination in the South and other states that had refused to reapportion their state legislatures, or retained rules based on geographic districts. In the landmark ruling of one man, one vote, it held that states had to organize their legislatures by districts that held approximately equal populations, and that these had to be redefined as necessary after each decade's census.
After World War II, Arkansas began to diversify its economy and see economic prosperity. During the 1960s, the state would become the base of the Walmart corporation, the world's largest retailer headquartered in Bentonville. In the 21st century, its economy is based on service industries, aircraft, poultry, steel, and tourism, along with important commodity crops of cotton, soybeans and rice.
Arkansas's culture is observable in museums, theaters, novels, television shows, restaurants, and athletic venues across the state. Notable people from the state include politician and educational advocate William Fulbright; former president Bill Clinton, who also served as the 40th and 42nd governor of Arkansas; general Wesley Clark, former NATO Supreme Allied Commander; Walmart founder and magnate Sam Walton; singer-songwriters Johnny Cash, Charlie Rich, Jimmy Driftwood, and Glen Campbell; actor-filmmaker Billy Bob Thornton; poet C. D. Wright; and physicist William L. McMillan, a pioneer in superconductor research.
Vehicle insurance (also known as car insurance, motor insurance, or auto insurance) is insurance for cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other road vehicles. Its primary use is to provide financial protection against physical damage or bodily injury resulting from traffic collisions and against liability that could also arise from incidents in a vehicle. Vehicle insurance may additionally offer financial protection against theft of the vehicle, and against damage to the vehicle sustained from events other than traffic collisions, such as keying, weather or natural disasters, and damage sustained by colliding with stationary objects. The specific terms of vehicle insurance vary with legal regulations in each region.
