The cheapest insurance companies in Illinois will be different from person to person.  This is because everyone has a unique history when it comes to the factors that impact the rate you pay for insurance in Illinois. Average rates may vary depending on the profile and background of the policyholder depending on these and other factors:

  • Age
  • Vehicle make and model
  • Insurance claim history

  • Driving record
  • Gender

Cheap Auto Insurance for Good Drivers

Drivers who drive clean and traffic citations can have car insurance rates significantly lower in the state of Illinois.

Cheap Auto Insurance for Drivers with DUI

Everyone makes a mistake and has to deal with the consequences, but the consequences of a DUI can be severe. These penalties include fines into the thousands of dollars. Finding affordable rates for IL car insurance after a DUI is no small feat, but if you really have trouble getting an affordable rate, consider only liability insurance as a way to save.

Cheap Auto Insurance for Drivers with an At-Fault Accident

Even a tiny fender bender can lift interest rates to levels that will significantly alter your budget. Insurers look at different time frames to track your driving history, from the time of your accident to the date of your accident and even up to a few months later. One company could look at the last five years, while the other could look at the last three years and so on.

Cheap Auto Insurance for Speeding Drivers

Speeding tickets can directly impact the rate you pay for IL auto insurance.  Get enough of them and you can even lose your license.

Cheap Auto Insurance for Young Drivers

Inexperienced drivers pose a higher risk to insurance providers so their rates can be significantly higher than average drivers. Novice drivers should be especially careful to maintain a clean driving record and comply with all speed limits and other driving regulations. Some IL insurance companies can provide more favorable rates than others for younger drives. It's worth getting multiple quotes so you can save money on your monthly insurance premiums.

Stickney, IL SR‌-22 Insurance

You will need to get SR‌-22 insurance in IL if it's ordered by the state or a court. If it's a court that orders it, then the judge will notify you of this at the hearing. If it's ordered by the state, then you will get a letter from the DMV/BMV.

Not all drivers need an SR-22. It's generally only required if you are caught driving without a valid license or valid insurance. You may also need an SR-22 in these cases:

  • Convicted of a DUI or DWI
  • Operating a vehicle without insurance
  • Too many violations or accidents where you are at-fault
  • Multiple offenses in a short time frame (i.e. getting 4 speeding tickets within a few months)
  • Refusing to pay child support that is court-ordered
  • Having to obtain a hardship license

The SR-22 is not an insurance policy. It's a document that your insurance company in IL files with the state to prove you have adequate car insurance. This allows you to legally drive again if you are ordered to get an SR-22. Not all insurers offer SR-22s so you may need to shop around.

Illinois ( IL-ə-NOY) is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States. It has the fifth largest gross domestic product (GDP),
the sixth largest population, and the 25th largest land area of all U.S. states. Illinois has been noted as a microcosm of the entire United States. With Chicago in northeastern Illinois, small industrial cities and immense agricultural productivity in the north and center of the state, and natural resources such as coal, timber, and petroleum in the south, Illinois has a diverse economic base, and is a major transportation hub. The Port of Chicago connects the state to international ports via two main routes: from the Great Lakes, via the Saint Lawrence Seaway, to the Atlantic Ocean and from the Great Lakes to the Mississippi River, via the Illinois River, through the Illinois Waterway. The Mississippi River, the Ohio River, and the Wabash River form parts of the boundaries of Illinois. For decades, Chicago's O'Hare International Airport has been ranked as one of the world's busiest airports. Illinois has long had a reputation as a bellwether both in social and cultural terms and, through the 1980s, in politics.

The capital of Illinois is Springfield, which is located in the central part of the state. Although today Illinois's largest population center is in its northeast, the state's European population grew first in the west as the French settled lands near the Mississippi River, when the region was known as Illinois Country and was part of New France. Following the American Revolutionary War, American settlers began arriving from Kentucky in the 1780s via the Ohio River, and the population grew from south to north. In 1818, Illinois achieved statehood. Following increased commercial activity in the Great Lakes after the construction of the Erie Canal, Chicago was incorporated in the 1830s on the banks of the Chicago River at one of the few natural harbors on the southern section of Lake Michigan.John Deere's invention of the self-scouring steel plow turned Illinois's rich prairie into some of the world's most productive and valuable farmland, attracting immigrant farmers from Germany and Sweden. The Illinois and Michigan Canal (1848) made transportation between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River valley faster and cheaper, and new railroads carried immigrants to new homes in the country's west and shipped commodity crops to the nation's east. The state became a transportation hub for the nation.

By 1900, the growth of industrial jobs in the northern cities and coal mining in the central and southern areas attracted immigrants from Eastern and Southern Europe. Illinois was an important manufacturing center during both world wars. The Great Migration from the South established a large community of African Americans in the state, including Chicago, who founded the city's famous jazz and blues cultures. Chicago, the center of the Chicago Metropolitan Area, is now recognized as a global city. Chicagoland, Chicago's metropolitan area, encompasses about 65% of the state's population. The most populous metropolitan areas outside the Chicago area include, Metro East (of Greater St. Louis), Peoria and Rockford.

Three U.S. presidents have been elected while living in Illinois: Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, and Barack Obama. Additionally, Ronald Reagan, whose political career was based in California, was born and raised in the state. Today, Illinois honors Lincoln with its official state slogan Land of Lincoln, which has been displayed on its license plates since 1954. The state is the site of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield and the future home of the Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.

Vehicle insurance (also known as car insurance, motor insurance, or auto insurance) is insurance for cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other road vehicles. Its primary use is to provide financial protection against physical damage or bodily injury resulting from traffic collisions and against liability that could also arise from incidents in a vehicle. Vehicle insurance may additionally offer financial protection against theft of the vehicle, and against damage to the vehicle sustained from events other than traffic collisions, such as keying, weather or natural disasters, and damage sustained by colliding with stationary objects. The specific terms of vehicle insurance vary with legal regulations in each region.
