Types of Nevada Car Insurance Quotes

The cheapest insurance companies in Nevada will be different from person to person.  This is because everyone has a unique history when it comes to the factors that impact the rate you pay for insurance in Nevada. Average rates may vary depending on the profile and background of the policyholder depending on these and other factors:

  • Age
  • Vehicle make and model
  • Insurance claim history
  • Credit score
  • Driving record
  • Gender
  • Marital status
  • Legal liability requirements
  • Where you live
  • Miles driven each year

Cheap Auto Insurance for Good Drivers

Drivers who drive clean and traffic citations can have car insurance rates significantly lower in the state of Nevada.

Cheap Auto Insurance for Drivers with DUI

Everyone makes a mistake and has to deal with the consequences, but the consequences of a DUI can be severe. These penalties include fines into the thousands of dollars. Finding affordable rates for NV car insurance after a DUI is no small feat, but if you really have trouble getting an affordable rate, consider only liability insurance as a way to save.

Cheap Auto Insurance for Drivers with an At-Fault Accident

Even a tiny fender bender can lift interest rates to levels that will significantly alter your budget. Insurers look at different time frames to track your driving history, from the time of your accident to the date of your accident and even up to a few months later. One company could look at the last five years, while the other could look at the last three years and so on.

Cheap Auto Insurance for Speeding Drivers

Speeding tickets can directly impact the rate you pay for NV auto insurance.  Get enough of them and you can even lose your license.

Cheap Auto Insurance for Young Drivers

Inexperienced drivers pose a higher risk to insurance providers so their rates can be significantly higher than average drivers. Novice drivers should be especially careful to maintain a clean driving record and comply with all speed limits and other driving regulations. Some NV insurance companies can provide more favorable rates than others for younger drives. It's worth getting multiple quotes so you can save money on your monthly insurance premiums.

Nevada SR‌-22 Insurance

You will need to get SR‌-22 insurance in NV if it's ordered by the state or a court. If it's a court that orders it, then the judge will notify you of this at the hearing. If it's ordered by the state, then you will get a letter from the DM/BMV.

Not all drivers need an SR-22. It's generally only required if you are caught driving without a valid license or valid insurance. You may also need an SR-22 in these cases:

  • Convicted of a DUI or DWI
  • Operating a vehicle without insurance
  • Too many violations or accidents where you are at-fault
  • Multiple offenses in a short time frame (i.e. getting 4 speeding tickets within a few months)
  • Refusing to pay child support that is court-ordered
  • Having to obtain a hardship license

The SR-22 is not an insurance policy. It's a document that your insurance company in NV files with the state to prove you have adequate car insurance. This allows you to legally drive again if you are ordered to get an SR-22. Not all insurers offer SR-22s so you may need to shop around.

Cities

Nevada (, Spanish: [neˈβaða]) is a state in the Western region of the United States. It is bordered by Oregon to the northwest, Idaho to the northeast, California to the west, Arizona to the southeast, and Utah to the east. Nevada is the 7th-most extensive, the 19th-least populous, but the 9th-least densely populated of the U.S. states. Nearly three-quarters of Nevada's people live in Clark County, which contains the Las Vegas–Paradise metropolitan area, including three of the state's four largest incorporated cities. Nevada's capital is Carson City.

Nevada is officially known as the "Silver State" because of the importance of silver to its history and economy. It is also known as the "Battle Born State" because it achieved statehood during the Civil War (the words "Battle Born" also appear on the state flag); as the "Sagebrush State", for the native plant of the same name; and as the "Sage-hen State". The name means "snow-covered" in Spanish, referring to Nevada's small overlap with the Sierra Nevada mountain range; however, the rest of Nevada is largely desert and semi-arid, much of it within the Great Basin. Areas south of the Great Basin are within the Mojave Desert, while Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada lie on the western edge. About 86% of the state's land is managed by various jurisdictions of the U.S. federal government, both civilian and military.

American Indians of the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe tribes inhabited what is now Nevada. The first Europeans to explore the region were Spanish. They called the region Nevada (snowy) because of the snow which covered the mountains in winter similar to the Sierra Nevada in Spain. The area formed part of Alta California's territory within the Viceroyalty of New Spain, which gained independence as Mexico in 1821. The United States annexed the area in 1848 after its victory in the Mexican–American War, and it was incorporated as part of Utah Territory in 1850. The discovery of silver at the Comstock Lode in 1859 led to a population boom that became an impetus to the creation of Nevada Territory out of western Utah Territory in 1861. Nevada became the 36th state on October 31, 1864, as the second of two states added to the Union during the Civil War (the first being West Virginia).

Nevada has a reputation for its libertarian laws. In 1940, with a population of just over 110,000 people, Nevada was by far the least-populated state, with less than half the population of the next least-populated state, Wyoming. However, legalized gambling and lenient marriage and divorce laws transformed Nevada into a major tourist destination in the 20th century. Nevada is the only U.S. state where prostitution is legal, though it is illegal in its most populated regions – Clark County (Las Vegas), Washoe County (Reno) and Carson City (which, as an independent city, is not within the boundaries of any county). The tourism industry remains Nevada's largest employer, with mining continuing as a substantial sector of the economy: Nevada is the fourth-largest producer of gold in the world.

Vehicle insurance (also known as car insurance, motor insurance, or auto insurance) is insurance for cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other road vehicles. Its primary use is to provide financial protection against physical damage or bodily injury resulting from traffic collisions and against liability that could also arise from incidents in a vehicle. Vehicle insurance may additionally offer financial protection against theft of the vehicle, and against damage to the vehicle sustained from events other than traffic collisions, such as keying, weather or natural disasters, and damage sustained by colliding with stationary objects. The specific terms of vehicle insurance vary with legal regulations in each region.
